Our perspective on the problem usually determines our success or failure.
I came across a few words by Alfred Armand Montapert that said,
“The majority see the obstacles; the few see the objectives; history records the successes of the latter, while oblivion is the reward of the former.”
How we see our problems makes a huge difference in how we approach the issue. Take a look at the differences between the wrong and right approaches:
|A Wrong Perspective||A Right Perspective|
|Problems are unsolvable||Problems are solvable|
|Problems are permanent||Problems are temporary|
|Problems are not normal||Problems are a normal part of life|
|Problems make us bitter||Problems make us better|
|Problems control us||Problems challenge us|
|Problems stop us||Problems stretch us|
One of the reasons problem solving is so difficult is that we are often too close to the problem to truly understand the issue.
By standing back (either literally or figuratively), you get a better perspective on your problem. And a better perspective will not only help you to feel better about it, but will also help you to solve it more easily.
‘Til the next episode, peace!
