What Makes God Smile

What Do You Do That Makes God Smile: Part 4?

If you haven’t read Part 1Part 2, and Part 3 you may want to do so before reading Part 4.

God smiles when we praise and thank him continually

Let me ask you a question.

How does it make you feel when someone appreciates what you’ve done?

You feel great don’t you. Well, God loves it.

When we express appreciation, and gratitude for the things God has done for us, God get’s a big-o smile on his face from ear-to-ear.

This is what Noah’s life did for God. Noah lived in such a way that he kept a smile on God’s face because he constantly lived with a heart of praise and thanksgiving.

The Bible says that after the flood, Noah built an altar, and gave thanks,

“Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it.” Genesis 8: 20 (NIV)

Now-a-days, we don’t offer animal sacrifices because of Jesus’ sacrifice. Instead, we are told to offer God

“the sacrifice of praise” Hebrews 13: 15 (KJV)

“the sacrifice of thanksgiving” Psalms 116: 17 (KJV)

» Whenever you give thanks to God for your blessings, things happen.

» When we bring joy to the Lord, our own hearts become filled with excitement!

Let me give you an example,

Worship is like a two way street. When God does something for me, I love it; and when I express my enjoyment to God, he loves it, and then we’re both happy.

The world gives it a definition, karma.

My mama use to say, “what goes in, must come out.”

Either way you look at it, Psalms 68: 3 says,

“But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful.”

My challenge to you would be to “find something to give God thanks for” wholeheartedly, try it.

If you constantly did this all day, check yourself at the end of the day, then come back and tell me how you feel.

’til the next episode, love ya!
